Etihad Rail Comes to Dubai: What Changes When Al Yalayis Station Opens on September 30
Dubai gets its first stop on the country's train line on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The name is Dubai Al Yalayis Station. It sits next to Jumeirah Golf Estates, on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311).
From that day, you can take a train from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. The trip takes about 57 minutes.
One more station opens the same day. That one is Al Dhaid, in Sharjah.
1. The Train Line Is Already Running
Etihad Rail started carrying people on June 30, 2026. The first route ran from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah.
Since then, more than 70,000 tickets have been sold.
The full line is 900 kilometers long. It will link 11 cities and areas. It runs from Al Sila in the west to Fujairah in the east.
The first stage has 10 stations. All 10 should be open by the end of March 2027.
2. You Can Walk to the Metro
Al Yalayis sits close to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line.
A walking bridge is being built between the two. The walk takes about four minutes.
This bridge matters a lot. Without it, only drivers can use the station. With it, anyone on the Red Line can reach the train.
Jumeirah Golf Estates is also on the plan for the new Metro Gold Line. That line is due in 2032.
3. Ticket Prices
Etihad Rail has not shared Dubai prices yet. They should come on opening day.
On the Abu Dhabi to Fujairah route there is a 50 percent launch discount right now. Comfort Class costs AED 55 instead of AED 109. Premium Class costs AED 120.
Dubai prices may look close to this. But wait for the real price before you plan a daily trip.
4. More Stations Are Coming
* Dubai Al Yalayis and Al Dhaid: September 30, 2026
* Zayed City and Liwa: November 30, 2026
* The rest of the Al Dhafra stations: December 30, 2026
* Sharjah University City: March 30, 2027
Etihad Rail has 13 passenger trains. Each train holds up to 400 people.
5. Dubai Will Get Four Stations
Mattar Al Tayer is the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA. He said Dubai will have four Etihad Rail stations in total.
Al Yalayis is the first. One more is planned on the same line.
Two more will come with the fast train between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Al Tayer said those two will be at Al Maktoum International Airport and at Al Jaddaf.
The fast train runs on its own electric track. It is built for speeds up to 350 kilometers per hour.
6. What This Means for Homes
This is the part that matters if you own or buy in south Dubai.
Al Yalayis sits in an area that has grown fast with no train. Green Community, Al Furjan, Dubai Investment Park, Dubai Production City and Expo City Dubai are all close. Al Maktoum International Airport is about 30 minutes away by road.
Until now, everyone here drove. A train station changes three things.
* Getting to work gets easier. A 57-minute train beats a drive that often takes longer. And you can work while you sit.
* More people will want to rent here. Some people work in Abu Dhabi but want Dubai rents. Before, that was hard. Now it is easy.
* Homes near stations may hold their price better. This happens in many cities with trains. When prices fall, homes near a station can fall less.
This will not happen in one month. It will happen over years, as the bridge opens and more stations are built.
7. One Thing to Keep in Mind
One station does not change a whole area on its own.
The bridge is still being built. Dubai ticket prices are not out. The fast train has no opening date yet.
If you buy in south Dubai, buy because the price and the payment plan work for you. Think of the train as a good reason the area may do well over the next 10 years. Do not pay more today just because of it.
